Adult content glossary: the terms fans search, defined

This is the short-answer page. Every term below gets a sentence or two, and each one links to the full explainer I've written on it. If you landed here trying to decode a tag, a filter, or something a creator said, find the word and follow the link for the long version.

I add to this page as I write new explainers, so it grows over time.

What do the format terms mean?

• POV. Point of view: the camera stands in for someone's eyes. The tag covers three formats, first-person, shoulder-cam and selfie-cam. What POV means
• Amateur. Real people and real reactions, as opposed to the polished studio look. It signals authenticity, not low quality. What amateur means
• Pro-am. A professional working with a non-professional, or experienced creators shooting an amateur look. Same page as amateur.
• Solo. One performer on camera, who is also the entire crew. What solo means
• JOI. Jerk-off instruction: a performer talks straight to the viewer and sets the pace. What JOI means
• Tribute. A performance dedicated to someone, like a fan or a favourite star, rather than spoken to the viewer. Covered on the JOI page.
• Worship. A scene built around adoring one partner's body, slowly. Goddess worship adds a frame where she's the one being served. What worship means
• BTS. Behind the scenes: footage of the setup, the reactions and the parts around a shoot. Behind-the-scenes category

What do the body-type terms mean?

• BBW. Big Beautiful Woman. A body-positive term from 1979 before it was a search tag. What BBW means
• SSBBW. Super-sized BBW: the same idea at a larger size. Same page as BBW.
• BHM. Big Handsome Man, the male counterpart to BBW. Same page as BBW, including how it differs from bear and chub.
• MILF. A mother who reads as attractive. The defining feature is motherhood plus desirability, not an age. What MILF means

What do FFM, MFM and MMF mean?

• FFM. Two women and one man.
• MFM. Two men focused on one woman, with no contact between the men.
• MMF. Two men and one woman, where the men also touch. What the threesome letters mean

What do the lifestyle terms mean?

• Hotwife. A woman whose partner knows about and encourages her being with other people. What hotwife means
• Stag and vixen. Vixen is the woman, stag is her partner; the pair names both seats instead of one. The lifestyle terms decoded
• Cuckold. Can look like a hotwife setup from outside but usually runs on humiliation. Same page as stag and vixen.
• Cuckquean. The female counterpart to a cuckold. Same page.
• Bull. The other man in a hotwife or cuckold dynamic. Same page.
• Unicorn. A single person, usually a bi woman, who joins a couple. What couples get wrong about unicorns
• Soft swap. Couples playing with each other's partners but stopping short of full sex. A soft swap, hour by hour
• Hall pass. Permission for a partner to be with someone else, though the phrase covers more than one arrangement. Is a hall pass cheating?
• One-penis policy. An arrangement where the woman can play with other women but her partner stays the only man. The one-penis policy

What do the platform terms mean?

• PPV. Pay-per-view: a one-time price to unlock a single post or message, separate from any subscription. What PPV means
• Free page. A creator page that costs nothing to follow and earns through PPV. Covered on the PPV page.

What do the paperwork terms mean?

These matter more to creators than to fans, but they show up at the bottom of every adult site. I'm not a lawyer, and these are one-line summaries; the linked pages go further.

• 2257 and custodian of records. The US record-keeping rule for performer IDs, and the person who holds those records. Custodian of records, explained
• Model release. The document where a performer grants rights to use footage of them. OnlyFans release form vs model release
• Intimacy coordinator. The person, or set of duties, that keeps consent and boundaries managed on a set. An intimacy coordinator on an indie set

Where to go from here

Every term here has a longer page behind it, and most of those pages end with where I shoot that format myself. The scenes are on my fan platforms; the site here stays SFW.
